Galex Nettle Tea is an herbal tea made from dried nettle leaves (Urticae folium). Nettle is known for its many health benefits, in particular its high content of vitamins and minerals such as iron, calcium and magnesium.
Nettles contain various phytosterols. Flavonol glycosides are present throughout the plant, especially in the flowers. Amines such as histamine and serotonin are found in the stinging hairs, while acetylcholine and choline are found in the herb. The amount of minerals (calcium, magnesium, iron, phosphorus) in the leaves depends on the growing site and the season. Nettles also contain vitamins (C, B2, K1), pantothenic acid and coumarin scopoletin. The root also contains related steroids, many amino acids, sugars as reserve substances, polysaccharides and lectins.
