The BioµCaps project aims to develop innovative biodegradable microcapsules with sustained release of embedded active ingredients, which will have an anti-ageing effect, and to incorporate them into the final cosmetic product. Our product combines the advantages of currently available cosmetic formulations with anti-ageing active ingredients and counteracts their short-acting drawbacks through an innovative approach of incorporating the active ingredients into microcapsules. The encapsulated active ingredients are protected from external factors and are released from the porous and biodegradable microcapsules gradually and controlled by diffusion over time. The technologically advanced microencapsulation process will thus ensure prolonged action and lifetime of the active ingredients and the cosmetic product itself.
