The cooling cream is an emulsion, with carefully selected ingredients, and has many positive effects.
Petroleum jelly – used as an occlusive agent in cosmetics. Applied to the skin, it forms a semi-permeable film that prevents transepidermal water loss (TEWL) and increases skin hydration.
Lanolin – a source of the skin’s own lipids (cholesterol), it has an emollient action. It is also occlusive, forming a semi-permeable film on the skin that reduces water evaporation and increases skin hydration.
Almond oil – has a non-greasy and light texture that is easily absorbed by the skin, making it suitable for all skin types. It is rich in fatty acids, including oleic and linoleic acid, making it an excellent moisturiser for the skin.
Avocado oil – has emollient properties that are considered particularly beneficial for dry and cracked skin that lacks moisture.
Dry and sensitive skin can be caused by several factors, the most common of which are:
- Cold weather, wind, low humidity and sun exposure can dry out the skin,
- use of harsh soaps and detergents, too hot water and lack of moisturisers,
- Deficiencies in nutrients such as vitamins A, C and E can affect skin health,
- skin loses moisture and elasticity as it ages,
- Prolonged stress can affect the skin’s lipid balance.
